Why don't people understand that it's a new Cadillac and the new CTS goes head to head with the 5-Series and E-Class? If I have one more person saying they can get a C-Class or A4 or whatever else entry level lux car for less and that its not right for Cadillac, I will scream.

The new C is probably an equal if not superior to the CTS.

People are stupid and there's nothing we can do about it. :(

So true...

Did they change something about the "new" CTS? I'm not seeing it. (o_o)

I'd rather XF

Becuase gen1 CTS was a C-class or 3-series size car. CTS gen2 was in between C and E class, and 3 and 5 series size. The new CTS gen3 is fully E and 5-series size, but the name has not changed, so people think CTS = small car.
It also doesn't help that the ATS and CTS look so similar. I have a new CTS (great car by the way), and sometimes I can't pick out an ATS versus a CTS on the road.

Maybe Oklahoma is making me more American-car-loving, but I love this car (and I come from an Acura-Lexus family.)
I just really want to know how reliable the CTS V-Sport's engine will be in the future.

That's something Cadillac needs to advertise more. It's not a 'tweener like it was, it's bigger now. Their ads with Cadillacs rotating on a stage telling you NOTHING about the cars themselves are pointless.

Just being honest

I've had to explain this to countless people. I wonder what they think the ATS competes with. The CLA and the 2 series?
![]() 11/25/2014 at 20:44 |

But it doesn't compete (mainly because of Cue).

lol

Really? I think they have very different and distinct looks, at least for the 2014+ gen CTS.

I would imagine no worse than all the other turbo luxe engines...
![]() 11/25/2014 at 20:47 |

I think that's what they think. Those cars and the A3 just confuse the issue.

Seriously? O.o

The only people I know who complain about CUE are self-righteous auto journies and people who've never used it.

I'm ashamed to admit I mistook a new CTS for an xts, and an Ats for an older CTS this week
:( I need to work on my Caddy identification skills... I did see a CTS-V coupe and an XLR-V this week too though!

The CTS has always been somewhat closer to midsized.
E60 5-Series: 190.6in long/113.7in wheelbase
1 st Gen CTS: 190.1in long/113.4in wheelbase
E46 3-Series: 176in long/107.3in wheelbase
—-
F10 5-Series: 192.9in long/116.9in wheelbase
2 nd Gen CTS: 191.6in long/113.4in wheelbase
E90 3-Series: 178.2in long/108.7in wheelbase
—-
3 rd Gen CTS: 195.5in long/114.6in wheelbase
F10 5-Series: 192.9in long/116.9in wheelbase
F30 3-Series: 182in long/110.6in wheelbase

its slow. I've played with it extensively. When i cross shopped the 2014 CTS against my 3 series. Its a solid car, but the lower end trims are inferior to their german counterparts.

Fair enough. I've never used it, but never heard anything good about it either.

I miss the XLR. And I think the ATS was made to purposefully resemble the second gen CTS. Because technically it finishes the job the first gen started.

Except the CTS is the size of a 5-er. So technically it's more bang for your buck when you stack it with its actual competition. And there really isn't anything inferior about it other than it lacks an "in-between" engine where the x35is are placed.

I feel like it's much more intuitive and tactile than iDrive or MIDI. If you can use a smartphone, you can use CUE.

Well I new that, I thought you meant 2015 was all new compared to 2014..

the XLR was really cool, I'd love to get one some day. I had a calendar with the Evoq concept car as a kid, the XLR was one of those rare cadillac concepts actually brought to life.

Oh. Not other than the emblem. That's changed on all 15 CTSs, but that's about it.

I would really like a piece for my office with all of the concepts since the start of Art&Science. How cool would that be?

that would be pretty badass! The Cien and Sixteen would definitely be required

Doesn't help that in that commercial they also show the SRX that doesn't even look like it's from the same decade. I know they sell a shit ton of them but they should stop advertising them, the CTS/ATS design leapfrogs the SRX so much.
